DESIGN: A Vest for the Best
You guys have no idea how fun it was to make this vest. If you don't know already, I love fashion and being able to implement it into my friendships. This vest was created with love for a special person that I've met here in Minot, ND. In April, Devyn and I spent a weekend in Winnipeg for my 23rd birthday. We had such a fun time up there and one of my highlights would have to be visiting Mitchell Fabrics. Let me tell you, that fabric store was heaven. Seriously, it was three stories and had the most beautiful textiles you could imagine. I purchased some really unique fabric and said to myself that I was going to make something really special with it.
It is now October and I found the perfect opportunity to use the fabric. I made a long vest and I would say it is imperfectly perfect. It has a little Tori touch and Mary style in it. The outer fabric has leather-like fabric that is woven into black mesh/tulle. The lining and casing is a soft black satin. A bronze button brings it all together for simplicity.
Seeing Mary put on her vest made my heart sing. It fit her perfectly and I could tell she loved it. I told her that I will be making a collection for her. That project will mean everything to me. It will be more special beyond words.
